Tasting Note:

Cabernet is king at Caymus. During the decade of the nineties there has been a succession of sumptuous rich concentrated lavishly-wooded cassis-flavored Caymus Cabernet Sauvignons. I tasted a number of different component parts of the 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon all of which – at least from an aromatic flavor and textural perspective – resembled the 1994 Napa. Interestingly when I saw Chuck Wagner in late October he was not yet sure whether there would be a Special Selection in 1995 which is surprising in view of the vintages high quality.
